Hebrew University Open Rank, Tenure Track Position in Musicology (including Ethnomusicology and Music Theory)

The Department of Musicology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position (open rank) in musicology (including ethnomusicology and music theory). Responsibilities include graduate and undergraduate teaching and advising, independent and original research (including application for research grants), and departmental service.
Job requirements:

The position is open to everyone with a Ph.D. degree, and to advanced doctoral students who expect to be granted their Ph.D. no later than June 30, 2025. Responsibilities include the teaching of required and elective courses in the
candidate’s field(s) of specialization (at the B.A. and M.A. degree levels). Successful candidates are expected to conduct independent and original research at the highest academic level, demonstrate academic leadership, compete for Israeli and international research grants, and should display an ability to work cooperatively with colleagues in the Faculty of Humanities and the university at large. Where pertinent and in accordance with inter-departmental needs, a joint departmental appointment or teaching sharing arrangement may be considered.
The Hebrew University’s primary language of instruction is Hebrew. However, the possibility of teaching one or more courses in English may be considered. Candidates who are unable to teach in Hebrew will be expected to attain teaching-level competence in the language during the initial years following their appointment.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a campus visit (physical or virtual), which will include a job talk, an interview, and meetings with department members.

(9) Two representative publications

(10) Two letters of recommendation, to be submitted directly by recommender (According to guidelines)
